We agree, Dr. McCarrick, that false accusations should be recognized as violence and provided with the same help as other victims. "Intimate partner violence should be viewed as a human issue rather than a gender issue, argues Dr McCarrick and there should be more services and support to enable men to seek the help and sanctuary they desperately require. ‘Within my research, the predominant experience is of men being arrested under false charges and their disclosures of being the victim are not taken seriously, despite having evidence. ‘Men find it incredibly difficult to talk about their experiences of domestic violence because of the shame and emasculation they feel is associated with it. To find the courage to speak out, only to be accused of violence themselves, is incredibly disheartening and ultimately prevents countless men from reporting intimate partner violence.’ Dr McCarrick is calling for more understanding of the emotional experiences of men and encouraging a more balanced, gender-informed perspective of domestic violence." First, this woman made false accusations against her ex in order to receive Children's Custody. However, her ex partner informed officials that she was dangerous for children and no one listened to him. These children were killed as a result of the failure to hold female perpetrators of domestic violence accountable. "Hall claimed she was trying to "save" her children from their abusive father, police said. Hall said that she and the children's father were separated, and engaged in a two-year custody battle. In Oct. 2018, Hall filed an emergency order asking for temporary sole custody of the children. In 2016, the father claimed that Hall was mentally unstable and was psychologically abusive to the children. Officials told FOX 23 they had previously responded to the home on domestic calls, but nothing had led to any arrests."
