Subsequent research on parenting between mothers and fathers confirms that there is no gender difference regarding the quality of parenting. "A new study from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom compared primary caregiver fathers, primary caregiver mothers, and dual earner mother/father couples. The researchers found no statistically significant differences in parenting quality, depression, anxiety, stress, feeling of social support, marital quality, conflict with the child, or the child’s own behavior (i.e., adjustment). The researchers conclude: “The present study challenges the assumption that women are more suited to primary caregiving than men … fathers and mothers are equally competent at parenting in the primary caregiving role.” Based on this finding, they recommend: “The high quality of parenting demonstrated by the primary caregiver fathers suggests that more fathers should be encouraged to be highly involved parents. To do so, policies facilitating this, such as shared parental leave and flexible work, including more part-time employment options, need to be widely promoted both by governments and by individual organizations.” More in link childandfamilyblog.com/primary-caregiver-fathers-and-mothers-are-equally-competent/?fbclid=IwAR3m_AB36B64NUaYB9ZkK81NHLbiI5vgW3WvmlhDjK3Nu1bUrquht3dBJPwpsycnet.apa.org/record/2021-90382-001?fbclid=IwAR24E-JDg_X_Rx_aKZhpRakWtLBnCyg-dC8zKx0CJB2bUx8joxGNRfozyCk#men #women #equal #father #discriminationmen #discrimination #segregation #falseaccusations #domesticviolence #childsupport #equalparenting #parentalalienation #divorce #fraud #falseaccusationsrape #fatherless #childsharecustody #fahtermatter #law #brokenlaw #familylaw #court #depression, #depressionafterdivorce #Divorce #effectsofdivorce #health #masculinity #mentalhealth #suicidal #suicide #equalpay #equalwork #menrights #humanrights

This is proof that child share custody works perfectly!!! Two independent research studies carried out in Spain following the introduction of Equal Parental Time (EPT) in 5 out of 16 Spanish regions show how important it is for the ETP to be the default option when parents separate and divorce their children. The first study looked at the impact of the ETP on rates of domestic violence, and the second looked at the impact on the relationship between parents, parents and children and the behavior of children and adolescents. Law changes in these regions have had huge positive effects, see below for details. 1) "Study of the impact of equal parenting time (EPT) laws on divorce-related outcomes, female employment and risky behavior by teenagers, using the natural experiment created by a series of reforms to promote EPT in 5 out of 16 Spanish regions, implemented between 2009 and 2011. The new laws established a presumption that EPT is in the best interest of the child, and parents’ disagreement was deemed insufficient to deny EPT. In this paper, we examine the effects on domestic violence of the passage of joint custody laws in Spain, which effectively changed the custody decision upon divorce from a unilateral maternal choice to a joint decision in which joint custody could not be unilaterally blocked by the mother, barring evidence of domestic violence. To illustrate the potential channels through which the policy change may affect IPV, we develop a simple theoretical model in which men may use IPV as an implicit threat of violence upon divorce. Using survey and administrative data, we find that the policy significantly decreased domestic violence, with IPV falling by almost 50%. Moreover, these effects are largest among couples more likely to divorce and in which the mother was more likely to seek sole custody before the policy change and therefore had the largest policy effects. We also find evidence of a significant reduction of the number of female homicides committed by intimate partners after the joint custody reform. More in link www.iza.org/publications/dp/13810/bargaining-under-threats-the-effect-of-joint-custody-laws-on-intimate-partner-violence?fbclid=IwAR0V6gWh8lOWKE0Z7BbsuVtf0IjmbSUWdO9r6xtbyguLL0KhqzgggBVZGGE2) From perspective, EPT laws, by equalizing the bargaining power of both spouses in a divorce proceeding, act as an incentive for them to reach beneficial agreements for both parents and their children. Hence, one of our main results is that EPT laws reduce contentious divorces. This is similar to the effects of mediation, which has been shown to reduce conflict in divorce proceedings, lead to remarkably improved relationships between nonresidential parents and children, as well as between divorced parents (Emery et al., 2005). In a sense, EPT laws create the conditions for a negotiation process to arise between the parties of a divorce similar to the one that is intended to be achieved through mediation, only that in the case of EPT laws, this process arises from interest of both parents to reach an agreement. Also, our results indicate that EPT laws act as a mechanism to increase the bonds between parents and children, positively impacting the emotional development of the latter. That is, although the observed decrease in contentious divorces could partly explain the decrease in risky behavior of adolescents, if EPT laws enhance the relationship of teenagers with their parents we could see an improvement in adolescent behavior even for those affected by a divorce of their parents. This relationship has already been established in previous works (e.g., Nielsen, 2018; Turunen, 2017), but mostly from a correlational point of view, not a causal one as we do in this paper. Finally, our study shows that joint custody laws produce incentives for a more equal division of labor between fathers and mothers. Unfortunately, the data do not allow us to know if this result is due to the greater availability of time of divorced mothers, or to a lower economic transfer in the form of child support (see, Chiappori et al., 2017 and Rangel 2006 for equivalent effects due to changes in alimony laws). However, the fact that we find that married fathers, not only married mothers, also adjust their behavior (they work less) suggests that another mechanism may come from the fact that joint custody laws increase the incentives for fathers to invest time with their children, anticipating that they will be able to reap the rewards of that investment even in the event of a divorce". USA, WEST Virginia enacts a child share custody law Congrats to West Virginia Senates and House for getting landmark legislation passed that will allow WV children to have equal access to both of their parents! They join KY and AR in being States that default to 50/50 parenting upon separation or divorce. The Equal Shared Parenting train is moving. We're knee-deep in Ohio with HB508. Florida is getting traction. Oklahoma, Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas and many others! Hopefully soon news like this won't be a big deal - Children Need Both Parents. These findings refute a number of popular myths about joint physical custody (JPC). "1. In the 54 studies—absent situations in which children needed protection from an abusive or negligent parent even before their parents separated—children in shared-parenting families had better outcomes than children in sole physical custody families. The measures of well-being included: academic achievement, emotional health (anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life satisfaction), behavioral problems (delinquency, school misbehavior, bullying, drugs, alcohol, smoking), physical health and stress-related illnesses, and relationships with parents, stepparents, and grandparents. 2. Infants and toddlers in joint physical custody (JPC) families have no worse outcomes than those in sole physical custody (SPC) families. Sharing overnight parenting time does not weaken young children’s bonds with either parent. 3. When the level of parental conflict was factored in, JPC children still had better outcomes across multiple measures of well-being. High conflict did not override the benefits linked to shared parenting, so JPC children’s better outcomes cannot be attributed to lower parental conflict. 4. Even when family income was factored in, JPC children still had better outcomes. Moreover, JPC parents were not significantly richer than SPC parents. 5. JPC parents generally did not have better co-parenting relationships or significantly less conflict than SPC parents. The benefits linked to JPC cannot be attributed to better co-parenting or to lower conflict. 6. Most JPC parents do not mutually or voluntarily agree to the plan at the outset. In the majority of cases, one parent initially opposed the plan and compromised as a result of legal negotiations, mediation, or court orders. Yet in these studies, JPC children still had better outcomes than SPC children. 7. When children are exposed to high, ongoing conflict between their parents, including physical conflict, they do not have any worse outcomes in JPC than in SPC families. Being involved in high, ongoing conflict is no more damaging to children in JPC than in SPC families. 8. Maintaining strong relationships with both parents by living in JPC families appears to offset the damage of high parental conflict and poor co-parenting. Although JPC does not eliminate the negative impact of frequently being caught in the middle of high, ongoing conflict between divorced parents, it does appear to reduce children’s stress, anxiety, and depression. 9. JPC parents are more likely to have detached, distant, and “parallel” parenting relationships than to have “co-parenting” relationships where they work closely together, communicate often, interact regularly, coordinate household rules and routines, or try to parent with the same parenting style. 10. No study has shown that children whose parents are in high legal conflict or who take their custody dispute to court have worse outcomes than children whose parents have less legal conflict and no custody hearing". 4 years after Kentucky passed two landmark child custody reform bills, family court caseloads and domestic violence rates have both decreased. Another proof of the importance of the default child share custody 50/50.

When Emma Johnson did a survey of whether mothers would prefer a child share custody 50/50 she scored "Only 13% of moms she surveyed have a 50-50 schedule, and nearly all of them (98%) said they like it". Mothers like it? And now each of us knows that women often give different answers in surveys than they really do. If it were so, as mothers declare, we would not have such problems for fathers and children as they are today because the courts of most cases take only the opinion and needs of mothers, not children. "The Bible and our culture tells us that, as women, motherhood is enough for us," says Johnson. "We don't need romantic love, we don't need professional success, we don't need political powers. Even though I was raised by strong women and had a progressive upbringing, I unconsciously bought into this idea that I should be a stay-at-home mom, because that would be better for everybody, that my kids benefited from me being with them 24/7." It was her own work that helped convince her otherwise. Through talking to and studying single moms for almost a decade, she found that they often fared better financially and personally in equal co-parenting relationships. Her survey of 2,279 single moms, conducted during the summer of 2020, found that single moms with a 50-50 parenting schedule are more likely (54%) to earn at least six figures annually than moms who take on most of the parenting. (Anyone who has tried to work with a rambunctious toddler in the room will immediately understand why.) What's more, the single moms she surveyed wanted shared-parenting arrangements: Only 13% of moms she surveyed have a 50-50 schedule, and nearly all of them (98%) said they like it. Of those who said they have majority time, about half said they wish they had a 50-50 arrangement. At the same time, three-quarters of the moms who want 50-50, like Swain, said that the father does not—and any benefits of 50-50 custody would of course be unlikely if one parent were an unwilling participant". The second issue is violence against children, if it were taken on the basis of real statistics, today care would prevail in favor of fathers, because statistically they are less of a threat to their own children than mothers, who dominate these statistics as perpetrators of violence against children. Meanwhile, the opposite is true today. "In addition, critics of 50-50 default custody bills say they could roll back important protections for victims of domestic violence and abuse. "What these 50-50 things do is they take kids away from, often, their safe, secure, nurturing relationship and force them to split their lives between a parent who's neither safe, secure, or nurturing and a parent who is," says Joan Meier, a law professor at George Washington University who studies family violence". These are the changes that took place after the change of law in 5 Spanish regions following the introduction of the default child share custody 50/50 law. Of course, the domestic violence industry does not report this because it lives on government funding, so it will deny the facts "Top-Line Results The findings being reported are: A dramatic increase in the EPT regions of equal parenting – from 10.3% to 40.0% is six years! Much improved relationships between children and ‘non-resident’ parents. A decrease in contentious divorces/separations – similar to mediation, as the changes created the conditions of a negotiation process to arise. An increase in the employment of mothers relative to fathers. A significant decrease in risky behaviour, especially boys. – almost 50% on average and as much as 69% for psychological control. The biggest effect on those where the mother was more likely to seek sole custody before the policy change – almost 50% on average and as much as 69% for psychological control. The biggest effect on those where the mother was more likely to seek sole custody before the policy change – avoiding threats of violence is incentivised as this would lead to a loss of their children. Incentives for fathers to invest time with their children, anticipating that they will be able to reap the rewards of that investment in the event of a divorce/separation. A significant reduction in female homicides".
